Center Line Sport Horses is owned by Colette Sossaman, a professional horse trainer specializing in the art of Dressage. Colette excels in the training of non-traditional breeds used for competition dressage (i.e. Baroques, Morgans, Arabs, TB's, and draft crosses). In fact, Colette has won multi-National Championships and Reserve National Championships on three different breeds in four levels of Dressage.
Ms Sossaman offers Dressage training, showing, and instruction to Dressage enthusiasts of all ages and levels of riding. Center Line Sport Horses is conveniently located less than 20 miles south of Dallas, Texas.
A native New Englander, Colette began riding and showing at the age of six. At fourteen, she was managing a combined training facility, which afforded her a deep and comprehensive appreciation for all aspects of equine care, training and breeding.
Colette has worked with a variety of disciplines including hunters, jumpers, dressage and combined training horses. She studied for several years under Dr. Van Scheik, a highly respected European classical dressage trainer and master. She also studied two years with Sally Swift, world-renowned author, whose book Centered Riding is a must on every serious dressage rider's reading list.
Colette has worked full-time in professional facilities for over 30 years. She has performed duties from head trainer and instructor through General Manager at some of the most prestigious facilities on the East Coast. Her expertise and invaluable experience includes training, breeding, stable management, marketing, and General Management (including the direct supervision of 12 subordinates).
